Memorial Weekend Ride
Well I have to say that this was by far the most eventful ride we have had. It seems that Al and Dan were the center of attention all day. It was a beautiful day, at least for Northern Minnesota. 70 plus degrees; at times is was actually too hot.
The day started out at Rob's cabin...thanks Rob for always having a wonderful spot for us to relax before and after our ride.
The first hole we came to the Razor's snorkel leaked. Ty was riding in the razor and having a blast because he got soooo wet! He was smiles from ear to ear.
Carl was in rare form as this was his first mud ride of the year. He was definitely out to get muddy and wet!!
The second hole was really fun for Dan and Al to play around in. Al decided to try to climb the steep side and then do a flying jump into the water. Take a look for that photo as it really is spectacular.
Tyler and Al tried throwing rocks...Tyler was much closer than Al at hitting the sign but neither one of them actually hit it! There are some great photos of the two of them trying to sumo wrestle.
Then Carl got stuck in the next hole, Al was smart and used the bank to get around it. Dan didn't realize it was a clay hole and totally buried the bike...we think this was when the axle started to break...it took all 4 of the guys to push along with a winch to get out of this one! Thanks to everyone! Sure was glad that the razor was on solid ground and had a winch!
I don't really even want to think about the next stop. It was a perfect area for doing wheelies. Dan and Al were having a blast...until...yep...Dan was on the left...Al was on the right (remember the song...clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right!!)...well, I am not sure what happened (something like I play chicken with a train, train...) but the next think we knew the bikes collided head on; they were going about 20 miles an hour each!! Polaris parts were everywhere!! Both Dan and Al were on the ground; the Polaris was on it's side and the Yamaha was not in good shape. I was taking pictures but the only thing I got was a picture of my bike as I threw the camera and ran. (I think this was the first step to the broken camera as it took about 20 more pictures and then died!)
After a lot of pulling and gorrila tape (man that stuff sticks to anything...even dirt), Dan's bike was ready to ride and we went back to Rob's cabin for lunch. At about 3:00 we went back out on the trail...Dan could barely walk and Al's bike...well it drove a little crooked but...well...boys will be boys and you can't stop them from having fun!!
Angela burned her belt again! Dan broke really broke his axle. Then Dan decided to take Angela's bike through a water hole...she should have known better...yep...water in the exhaust. So here we are with a dead bike in the middle of a water hole...Rob's bike is wet from the water hole, Al's bike is wet from the water hole, we already know that the razor's snorkel is leaking, Carl's bike is clean so Carl get's on Dan's bike and pulls the 500 out!
By then it was cooling off and it was time to head back...okay...limp back...to the cabin.
All I can say is that there is never a dull moment, everyone is still alive and no one is in the hospital. The bikes can be fixed! Dan is extremely soar and stiff.
Truly, I can't wait for the next ride! We will post better photos of Dan's bike once we get the other camera out.
For now...

Whoo Hooo!!! First ride of the year...well at least for us. We didn't get started wheeling until the afternoon but that doesn't mean that the morning was uneventful for anyone. Dan's bike was still complete torn apart at 9:00 am so there was alot of scrambling on his part. Todd didn't get his bike together until the night before (he didn't even know he was going to ride until the night before). While testing his bike Dan (Flip)decided to NOT keep the rubber side down! And was upside down in the water again!!! (This is becoming a very bad habit!) However it is a habit that Randy (scuba-steve) seems to think he needs to copy...more on that later!!
We finally caught up to everyone at about 1:00; they were just starting to make lunch. Dan, Angela and Mike decided to go for a quick ride while they ate (just to test the bikes)!
There were a few casualties this ride with bikes but no one got hurt. Big highlights were of course Randy decided to be scuba steve and go swimmin' and Al decided that he was going to fall off the back of his bike and of course we can't forget Todd dislocating his toe trying to pull himself out of the mud! No one got stuck too bad and as usual it was a great time! Thanks Rob for the wonderful day and for the awesome steaks afterwards.
See you on the trails!

Better late than never... (year end ride)
Well it took a little while to get everything uploaded and to update this blog. Yikes! It has been over a week. Sorry guys! Tyler, Angela's son, came with to Mike and Tammy's and took all of the pictures. There are really some pretty great shots...Brenda, what are you drinking???? ROFL. He got mud spitting up, he got people stuck and he got lots of the dog...Do you think he likes dogs?? Yup!
What a great time! This whole year has been a blast from the first ride to the last each has been my favorite in one way or another. This last ride was more of a mud hole ride and the whole was NASTY!! Mike broke his front axil and both Dan and Dave got stuck and needed to be pulled out (more than once!!) Ang went through a few times but knew better than to try after the boys had really churned things up.
The kids had a great time playing with all of Mike's toys in the garage while the adults...well...look at Brenda's picture and you'll know what we were up to!! Ang drank a whole bottle of tequilla by herself; Mike dropped both Jack Daniel's glasses (but only broke one!); Jim and Tamara showed up a little later in the night along with a few of Mike's other friends. It was a fantastic time! Thanks Mike and Tammy for puttin up with us and throwing such an awesome party.
Now we just need to figure out when and where for the next one? How about once a month?? Who has November?? December??? Dan and Ang thought maybe a winter house fishing party at the cabin in January? Anyone game??
Anyways, it was an awesome year. Can't wait for the spring cuz I definitely prefer mud to snow!!

Lost?? 10-18-08
Could we have asked for a better day?? I don't think so. We had rain, wind or just plain cold the week before but the sun was shining and it was a beautiful day for a ride. Every time I think that a ride is my favorite, I go out and then that ride is so great! As usual, we had an awesome group to ride with.
We found mud...dirt...water...more water...some of us even found ALOT of water!! We actually found time to have a campfire this time. Thank Randy for providing the hot dogs and sharing with everyone!
Maureen was a little gun shy at first going through the BIG puddles but by the end of the day, they didn't even phase her!
Again, Steve was a great tour guide! We never really got lost...just a little misplaced. Everything seems to look a little different with two feet of snow on it.
We have all decided that loggers are a pain in the ass! They can physically see the trail signs and still insist on putting all the dead fall in front of the trail. It is fine for the wheelers as they go through just about anything but man I feel sorry for the snowmobilers this winter!
Carl was the first to roll his machine this ride. Why is it that these boys can never stay on all fours?? If it's not Scott or Randy or Dan, it's Carl (this time). I wonder who will be next??????
We got some great video of our water logged roll over boy...(Randy?). I am not sure why he feels the need to go swimming every time we go wheeling cuz when he comes out of the water he really is dirtier than when he goes in!!
It was especially fun watching Tim, Carl and Randy going deep in the beaver ponds. Dan even joined in the fun on the last big hole and proceeded to kill the machine in the water. He was able to start it up just fine. (This time!!)
Thanks to everyone for a wonderful, fun day! Thanks again to Steve and Maureen for letting us crash there camping site and showing us the new trails!
